After the events of September 2001, Federal law enforcement started to change.

Old priorities  gave way to new challenges and better ways to meet them.  When the order came down to
disband Team Seven, Chris Larabee was offered an opportunity to become Unit Commander for a new Task
Force Unit, MCAT (Major Crimes and Acts of Terrorism).  It consists of a team of federal agents, who take on
cases, too complex or too hot for other agencies to handle.

MCAT began as an agency under the direction of the Justice department, but has since become an independent
elite unit under the authority of Director Orrin Travis, who holds executive  jurisdiction  for its operations.
While MCAT handles major crime cases, and assists local police departments,  their priority is to  thwart
terrorism, both foreign and domestic, overtly or covertly, whenever and wherever necessary.

When rocket grenades destroyed the twelfth floor of the Federal building last year the MCAT office was moved
to a renovated airfield at an undisclosed location in the mountains near Denver.

To the outside world, it is an airfield, but it houses a state of the art satellite communications room, along with
executive offices for Director Orrin Travis and Assistant Director, Commander Chris Larabee.

These nondescript buildings also conceal one of the best crime labs in the country, along with a firing range.
The State of Colorado has designated the surrounding 360 acres for a training center, which rivals Quantico, in
exchange for MCAT permanently making Denver its main headquarters.  Colorado is where future MCAT units
will train.  The Training Center will host law enforcement seminars for all agencies, stage team competitions,
and add a Citizen's police academy for reserve law enforcement officers, and qualified civilians, who have
legitimate reasons for attending.

The MCAT air fleet consists of two private jets and two helicopters with a flight crew of eight.  Agent Raphael
Cordoza is an experienced pilot and although a might rusty, Josiah Sanchez can fly a helicopter if needed.

Units:
Alpha ~ Captain Vin Tanner, SAC (Denver, Colorado)
Bravo ~Captain Justin Michaels, Sac (Denver, Colorado)
Charlie ~ Captain Samuel Cain,  Sac (San Antonio, Texas)
MCAT started out as a test under the Command of Chris Larabee.  Captain Vin Tanner and  Special Agents , Buck
Wilmington, JD Dunne, Ezra Standish, Josiah Sanchez ,and Nathan Jackson form the solid base for an elite team.

Since its inception, this unit has done outstanding work on a number of cases.  Most notably, they have
neutralized three terrorists' threats, and halted several assassination attempts of high-ranking officials.  They
have taken on serial killers, public corruption, child trafficking, militias, and computer crimes.  The skills with
which they have handled these cases have convinced the higher ups of MCAT’s worth.

My Unit has withstood attacks from within and from outsiders.  JD Dunne, Mallory Sanchez, and Pam Walton,
are the core of the finest communications and research department in the country.  CASSIE (Collaborative
Analysis System for Sensitive Information Engineering) is a state of the art computer and is a valuable team
member to the unit.  Our forensic team led by Dr. Robert Metfield is outstanding.

MCAT is independent, specialized unit.  We have been given carte blanc for a budget and have state
of the art equipment.  Satellite feeds, a video war room, the works.  MCAT will remain a versatile, responsive,
and respected premier Federal law enforcement agency, demonstrating excellence in all aspects of our
Operations.  We will search for justice in all major crimes committed against our citizens and fight all acts of
terrorism, both domestic and foreign.
